So who do I work with?

I've been fortunate to work with over 50 B2B startups and scaleups in the last 10 years. 

Most of these were looking to prioritise sales and marketing as levers of growth.



Company Type

While the majority have been SaaS companies, I've also supported several professional services companies as well as those from a broader tech arena e.g. water tech. 

In most cases I've reported to the CEO, but in others there may already be a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in situ. 

The ideal model has a marketing executive or manager to support execution. Afterall, most engagements generate a list of 'jobs to be done' and delivery capability is critically important.

With some engagements I'll also bring some specialist freelancers to the table to offer additional assistance for more technical support. These include:

- B2B Copywriters

- Graphic Designers

- Brand Identity Specialists

- SEO experts

- Paid acquisition experts (Google Ads)

- Outbound (sales support)

Most of my clients have some VC backing, and range from Seed stage to Series C. 


Location

I've been fortunate to work with clients in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the US.


Type of Engagements

One of the most enjoyable parts of the role is the sheer breadth of the engagements. Recent engagements have included:

- Establishing a marketing function from scratch

- Preparing a client for exit

- Supporting a VP of Marketing after a Series A raise

- Acting as the Chief Marketing Officer of a Series B SaaS company in advance of a new marketing lead joining

- Supporting a European marketing team with 'product marketing' initiatives

- Supporting a European client with a UK marketing entry strategy

My previous role as CEO and Co-Founder of Contento, a B2B SaaS Content Management System has also helped shape my experience.


Success Stories

One of the challenges of interim engagements is measuring success with concrete numbers. As you'll note from the list of engagements above it is not easy to assign KPI's to every project. 

I will of course be happy to introduce prospective clients to former clients.
