The phrase ‘social media’ often gets bandied around without people describing what exactly they mean by it. For us it represents channels where large audiences congregate which is of natural interest to people in marketing given the ability to provide access to a core demographic.

We are all constrained in terms of bandwidth so a key early decision is determining which channel is likely to bring the most return over time. Like many aspects of marketing, engagement on social requires a significant time commitment with paid solutions offering the main way to access an audience in the short term.
